Rev. Carl J. Smith

Rev. Carl J. Smith of Moses Lake, Wash. passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vida M. Smith. They were married June 7, 1953 in Klamath Falls, Ore. He is also survived by daughter Nancy Whetstine and her husband Daniel of Phoenix, Ariz. and sons Terry and wife Teresa Smith of Soap Lake, Wash.; Paul and wife Michaela Smith of Moses Lake, Wash. and Craig and wife Kristen Smith of Malvern, Penn. He is also survived by a brother James and wife Coral Smith of Queen Creek, Ariz. and a sister Naomi Elliot of Capon, Okla. as well as 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ether and Gladys Smith, a sister Ruth Gilstrap and a son John Smith, as well as numerous other family and friends who he is rejoicing with in Heaven now.

Carl was a pastor with the Assembly of God church in Kansas, Oregon, and Washington for over 50 years. He also worked other various jobs including paper delivery and working at Safeway in Grand Coulee, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the New Beginnings Christian Center, 318 W. Northshore Dr. Moses Lake, Wash. Please express your thoughts and memories for the family at www.nicolesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata, Wash.
