(Daily Bee file photo/CAROLINE LOBSINGER) Turkey Trot participants make their way around Travers Park as they take part in the last year’s Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. The event, which is sponsored by Sandpoint Parks & Recreation and Sandpoint West Athletic Club, raises donations and food for the Bonner Community Food Bank.

SANDPOINT — Join Sandpoint West Athletic Club and the Sandpoint Parks and Recreation Department for the 11th Annual Turkey Trot and food drive on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 22. This low key event features a 5K, 10K or whatever distance you want to run or walk — bikes and dogs are not allowed.

This fun run is free with a nonperishable donation to the Bonner Community Food Bank. Event will start at the Travers Park parking lot, 1202 W. Pine St. at 9 a.m. Please arrive early to sign a waiver — minors need a parent or guardian’s signature — and to drop off food donations.

For more information, call 208-263-3613. For other activities offered by P&R, go online to sandpointidaho.gov/parksrecreation.
