16-year-old male sought in connection with shooting in Ronan

Law enforcement officials in Lake County are seeking a 16-year-old male in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon, Nov. 15 in Ronan.

According to information from the Ronan Police Department, officers learned there was a 25-year-old woman seeking treatment for a gunshot wound at St. Luke’s Hospital in Ronan.

As of Friday, woman was reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Officials haven’t announced the name of the suspect, the victim, or a 33-year-old male who is also being sought as a person of interest in the investigation.

The shooting occurred at a residence in the 300 block of 12th Ave. NW in Ronan.

Officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle that he was driving during the incident and interviewed the occupants.

Despite efforts by the Ronan Police Department with the assistance of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, CSKT Tribal Law and Order, Montana Highway Patrol, and the St. Ignatius Police Department, the suspect has not been apprehended.

At this time the Ronan Police Department is working with the Lake County Attorney’s Office to obtain arrest warrants.
