Teen suspect sought in Ronan shooting

Lake County law enforcement officials are seeking a 16-year-old boy in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in Ronan.

According to information from the Ronan Police Department, officers learned there was a 25-year-old woman seeking treatment for a gunshot wound at St. Luke’s Hospital in Ronan.

The woman is reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Officials haven’t released the name of the suspect, the victim, or a 33-year-old man who is also being sought as a person of interest in the investigation.

The shooting occurred at a residence in the 300 block of 12th Ave. NW in Ronan.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle the suspect was driving during the incident and interviewed the occupants.

Despite efforts by the Ronan Police Department with the assistance of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, CSKT Tribal Law and Order, Montana Highway Patrol and the St. Ignatius Police Department the suspect has not been apprehended.

The Ronan Police Department is working with the Lake County Attorney’s Office to obtain arrest warrants.
