OTHELLO — An unknown person reportedly caused an injury collision near Othello Sunday night and is now wanted for hit-and-run and crossing the center line.
About 7:55 p.m. an unknown driver in a gold 2004 Honda Acura TL was traveling east in the westbound lane of state Route 26 in Othello city limits and struck the side of a 2006 Suzuki driven by Jacqueline Montes-Ibarra, 38, of Othello, who was traveling west on SR-26. The Suzuki was then struck by a 2012 Kia Rio driven by Amanda Clayson, 30, of Pullman, who was traveling east on SR-26 behind the driver of the Acura, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver of the Acura continued heading east before striking the westbound SR-26 guardrail. The Acura came to a rest blocking the eastbound SR-26 lane. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.
Clayson, Montes-Ibarra and her passenger, a 17-year-old girl, were injured in the collision and transported to Othello Community Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
The patrol lists the officials cause of the collision as the driver of the Acura driving over the center line. The roadway was blocked in both directions for about four hours Sunday night.
