WHS student athletes earn Academic All State honors

Dozens of Whitefish athletes earned Academic All State honors from the Montana Coaches Association for the fall 2018 quarter.

Student-athletes must keep a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and earn a varsity letter to earn the honor.

In volleyball, Mia Mendoza, Mikenna Ells, Kennedy Grove, Marlee Bender, Hope Brown and Faith Blackaby earned All-State honors.

The golf team saw Ryan Kemm, Andrew Brozek, Cameron Kahle, Jayce Cripe, Ella Shaw, Megan Archibald, Annie Nixon, Kendall Reed, Anna Elm, Maddie Sramek, Makenna Woody and Anyah Cripe earn Academic All-State.

Zach Dunnagan, Colter Gaertner, Jacob Henson, Jacob Bailey, Bridger Gaertner, Miles Vrentas, Tyler Dunnagan, Ali Simpson, Erin Wilde, Jessica Henson, Josephine Vardell, Noumousso Diane, Ella Greenberg, Jade Greenberg, Emily Gunlikson, Braya Hobson, and Annie Robertson earned the award for cross country.

In boys soccer, the honor went to Chase Sabin, Ammann Koch-Ford, Niath Edland, Ian Lacey, Brandon Mendoza, Gabe Menicke, Casey Schneider, Riley Arendt, William Hyatt, Josh Gunderson, Ian Grover, Joseph Houston, Xander Burger, Kaden deYong, Sam Menicke and Colter Upton. For the girls, Grace Benkelman, Mary Peterson, Anna Akey, Taylor Gentry, Olivia Potthoff, Abigail Shaffer, Saylor Schlauch, Alis Hirsch, Emma Barron, Anna Cook, Thea Vrentas, Josie Schnieder, Abby Lowry, Sophie Olson, Lucy Lowry, Maile Vine and Adrienne Healy received the honor.

For cheerleaders, Academic All-State honors went to Alexys Anderson and Mariah Smith.

In football, Jack Schwaiger, Carver Gilman, Ian Calaway, Bodie Smith, Devin Beale, Josh Nelson, Bode Wold, Dillon Muth, Morgan Adams, Logan Drown, Keegan Wold, Camren Ross and Dillon Botner earned Academic All-State honors.
