Driver from Connell injured in Richland roundabout collision

RICHLAND — A woman from Connell was injured in Richland Monday night after a man entered a roundabout in the wrong direction and struck her vehicle.
Thomas Bright, 50, of Kennewick, approached the roundabout from Queensgate Drive to Interstate 182 in a 2013 Ford F-150 about 5:55 p.m.. Bright reportedly entered the roundabout in the wrong direction and ended up striking a 2017 Dodge Durango SUV driven by Emily Hart, 33, of Connell, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Both Bright and Hart were injured in the collision and transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland for treatment. Hart’s passengers, an 8-year-old boy and 6-year-old boy, were not injured. Both of the involved vehicles sustained reportable damages and were impounded.
The patrol reports Bright was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
