(SUPERIOR, MT) Mineral Community Hospital reported 27 cases of influenza A in Montana so far this season with five of the cases in Missoula County.

Flu-like symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people, especially children, may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may also be infected with flu and have respiratory symptoms without a fever.

There are actions people can take to help prevent flu transmission including getting a flu vaccination, as well as washing hands and using proper cough etiquette, also, “stay home if you are ill,” MCH personnel advises.

Mineral Community Hospital asks visitors to please reframe from entering the facility if you have any symptoms. Surgical masks and alcohol-based hand rub are available at the public entrances (main doors and ER). For more information, contact Jessica Martin, Infectious Disease Control, at 822-4841.
