The St. Regis/Mullan co-op football regular season ended in second place in the White Pine League and fourth overall in their eight-team division. Both junior Ian Farris and freshman Adam Ball were All-League selections, and Farris may possibly receive All-State, said head football coach Jesse Allan. All-State award winners will be announced on Dec. 3. Farris was also in line for Most Valuable Player, and came in second to the team’s quarterback.

“Ian has worked exceptionally hard and during the season shut down every receiver in the league,” said Allan. “He was also the third leading tackler, and Adam Ball was the leading freshman.”

St. Regis teamed up with Mullan, Idaho, when both schools lacked enough players to make up an 8-man football team. Allan said overall it was a good experience and players, both communities, and schools were supportive of the endeavor. It was a good team, and Allan is hoping to have between 10 to 14 players between the two schools next year.

St. Regis athletes traveled to Mullan for practice, which was 40 miles away. That brought them home to St. Regis by around 7:15 each evening. Most games were held in Idaho and between the time change, longer quarters in the game, and a later start time, sometimes they didn’t get home until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning.

“That was probably the hardest part. But all games were played on Friday night with one Saturday afternoon game,” Allan said. The co-op will continue into next season, “This team is very competitive and we’re looking forward to next year.”

The St. Regis Lady Tigers ended their volleyball season earlier this month where senior Emma Hill received second team All-Conference honors.
