SANDPOINT — With a 23 1/2-pound, 36-inch lake trout, Moose Zema hooked his way to the top of the adult rainbow leaderboard Tuesday while Brad Sturgis maintined his position atop the adult mackinaw division.

Zema took over the top spot from Julie Williams, who had claimed the lead in the early going of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s annual K&K Derby with a 20.78-pound, 34-inch rainbow. George Schernitzki dropped to third with his 19.24-pound, 33 3/4inch fish with Jim Brewer following in fourth with an 18.36-pound, 34 1/2-inch fish.

Sturgis sits atop with adult mackinaw division with a 17.74-pound lake trout that measures 37 inches. In second place in the mack standings is Becky Sturgis with a 17.3-pounder that measured 35 1/2 inches, while Art Webb claimed third-place honors with a 17.10-pound mackinaw that measured 37 inches. Following in fourth is Gale Belgarde Sr. with a 16-24-pound, 34-inch fish; fifth is Gary Thompson with a 6.24-pound, 26 1/4-inch fish; and sixth is Jerry Walker with a 1.86, 18 1/2 inch fish.

Brandon Reeves moved into the lead in the junior division with a 18.66-pounder that measured 35 inches. Carly Laybourne and Lyla Shelton top the Youth A and B standings, respectively.
