SANDPOINT — While anglers took a break to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their families, there was plenty of action Wednesday on the lake as the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s annual K&K Derby heads into its final weekend.

Moose Zema and Brad Sturgis held onto their leads in the adult rainbow and mackinaw leaderboards, respectively. Zema hooked a 23 1/2-pound, 36-inch rainbow on Tuesday while Sturgis caught his 17.74-pound mackinaw measuring 37 inches a few days earlier on Sunday.

In second place in the adult rainbow is Julie Williams, who caught a 20.78-pound, 34-inch rainbow. New to the rainbow leaderboard are Donnie Endicott in third place with a 20.36-pound rainbow measuring 35 inches long, and Wayne Heather with a 19.46-pounder that measures 34 ionches.

Following Sturgis in the adult mackinaw division is Becky Sturgis with a 17.3-pounder that measured 35 1/2 inches, while Art Webb claimed third-place honors with a 17.10-pound mackinaw that measured 37 inches. Following in fourth is Gale Belgarde Sr. with a 16-24-pound, 34-inch fish; fifth is Gary Thompson with a 6.24-pound, 26 1/4-inch fish; sixth is Gale Belgarde Jr. with a 3.52-pound, 22-inch mack; and seventh is Jerry Walker with a 1.86-pound, 18 1/2-inch fish.

While Brandon Reeves continues to lead in the junior division with a 18.66-pounder that measured 35 inches and Carly Laybourne maintains a leader in the Youth A standings, respectively, two young anglers hooked their way onto the leaderboard in the Youth B division. Gracie Belgarde hooked a 16.04-pound, 34-inch mackinaw to claim the division’s top spot and Madison Clary caught a 8.76-pound, 27-inch rainbow to claim third.
