Five skaters head to regional championships

Glacier Skate Academy of Whitefish is sending five skaters to the Pacific Northwest Regional Figure Skating Championships. They are Shatara Boye, Sophia Burrough, Willem Gray, Maggie Mercer and Muriel Mercer.

The 2019 Pacific Northwest Regional Figure Skating Championships includes Washington, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Alaska, and will be held from Oct. 3-7 in Sherwood, Oregon.

“We are very excited to be sending five athletes to this year’s Regional Championships. They all have been training year-round at the Stumptown Ice Den to prepare for this competition,” said Sean Wirtz, Director at Glacier Skate Academy.
