The dangers of medical mistakes will be discussed at Lifetree Café on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at 2 p.m.

The program, titled “Doctor Danger: What Every Patient Needs to Know,” features a filmed interview with Dr. Martin Makary, a cancer surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital and author of U”naccountable: What Hospitals Won’t Tell You and How Transparency Can Revolutionize Health Care”.

“There are lots of things hospitals don’t tell you,” says Makary. “As many as 25 percent of patients are harmed by medical mistakes. It’s an epidemic, and it kills more people than HIV and car accidents combined.”

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café meets at Jalapenos, 314 N Second Ave., Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to stan@followcommunity.org or 208-304-6465.
