Troy VFW Auxiliary family fest is Oct. 13

VFW Auxiliary No. 5514 will soon host its first Family Freedom Festival in Troy, featuring hotdogs, kids games and more.

The cost-free, family-friendly event takes place noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the VFW Hall at 212 E. Yaak Ave.

Representatives from Troy Police Department, Troy Volunteer Fire Department, Troy Volunteer Ambulance, Troy Schools and the U.S. Forest service will be on-hand to provide safety information.

The festival also will include assorted activities and entertainment, and information about what the Auxiliary has to offer, including membership, scholarships, youth group, voter registration and how to help loved ones with mental illness.
