SANDPOINT — A Washington state woman was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of drunken driving after she collided with a Sandpoint Police patrol vehicle during traffic stop.

Sandpoint Police pulled Amanda Lee Green in the 200 block of East Superior shortly before midnight on Wednesday, according to an Idaho State Police probable cause affidavit. Green was stopped for failing to heed a stop sign at First and Pine.

The Sandpoint officer pulled behind Green, who reversed her BMW into the patrol rig, the affidavit said. There were no reports of injuries.

An ISP trooper attempted to conduct field sobriety tests on Green, but she would not cooperate, according to the affidavit. Green also declined to cooperate with breath-alcohol testing at the scene, although one of the trooper’s attempts to obtain a sample yielded a reading of 0.22, which is nearly three times the legal limit to drive, according to the affidavit.

Green consented to a blood draw at Bonner General Health, although the results of the test were not listed in court documents.

Green was charged with excessive DUI and posted a $3,000 surety bond after making an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Thursday afternoon, court records indicate. Conditions of release imposed by Judge Tera Harden forbid Green from using alcohol or drugs.

Green, a 42-year-old Ephrata resident, is pleading not guilty to the misdemeanor charge and her counsel, Sandpoint attorney Michael Waldrup, is moving to suppress evidence because evidence obtained in the investigation was gained in violation of Green’s Fourth, Fifth and 14th amendment rights. A jury trial is planned for Nov. 29.
