Loyola upsets Bigfork

BIGFORK — Top-ranked Bigfork fell to No. 5 Missoula Loyola on Friday in a battle for first place in Western B football, 26-21.
The Rams jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, but Bigfork quarterback Anders Epperly connected with Luke Schmit for two touchdowns as Bigfork (6-1, 4-1 Western B) reclaimed the lead, 14-13.
Loyola (7-1, 5-0) scored 13 unanswered points in the second half, and the Vikings did not score again until a Luke Taylor 2-yard touchdown with 41 seconds left.
Loyola had 416 yard of offense to Bigfork’s 335.
The Vikings also threw two interceptions.

EUREKA – Eureka scored 23 points in the first quarter and rolled by Deer Lodge in Western B play.
Eureka quarterback Hank Dunn threw his two touchdown passes in the first quarter. The first was to Austin Callendar for 75 yards, and Dunn followed that with a 28-yarder to Gunnar Smith.
Jake Kindel ran for three touchdowns and 61 yards for the Lions (6-2, 4-2), while Terell Helgert rushed for 63 yards and the game’s opening touchdown.
The Eureka defense came up big, forcing four interceptions and sacking Deer Lodge quarterbacks seven times.
