Charles Earnest Beals, 78, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018, in Post Falls, Idaho. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Pack River Cemetery.

Charlie was born on January 7, 1940, in Iuka, Illinois, to Arthur and Birdie Beals. The family moved to Glendive, Mont., in 1956, where Charlie worked in the oil fields. He moved to Seattle in 1962 and worked at Pier 91.

Charlie married Erma Raines McKinney on December 2, 1972, in Sandpoint. Here he worked for Bargain Supply and Boise Cascade.

Charlie was always helping people in need. He was a member of the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing, and playing cards.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Beals in Seattle; stepdaughter Ellen Ellsworth of Antioch, Calif.; and grandchildren, David Hair, Jaclyn Ellsworth, and Stacy McCraney; and great-grandchildren, Trinity, Lillian, and Cayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Erma, and brothers, Bob and Richard.
