Watson, a 6-foot-2 senior middle blocker and Lake City High product, was named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the first-place Bulldogs to wins over UNLV and New Mexico. Watson led the Bulldogs with 10 blocks in two matches last week, helping Fresno State hold its two opponents to a .164 hitting percentage. She had a match-high six blocks against New Mexico, then had four blocks against UNLV.

Drake, a 5-foot-3 freshman forward from Coeur d’Alene High, scored two goals for the Eagles (6-7-3, 2-4-1 Big Sky) in an 8-1 win over Idaho State last Sunday in Cheney. The win was the largest in program history, and the eight goals were the most scored in a Big Sky Conference match.

Johnson, a sophomore forward from Lake City High, scored with two minutes to play in the second overtime as the Cowgirls (10-5-1, 4-2-1 Southland Conference) beat Abilene Christian 1-0 on Friday in Abilene, Texas. Johnson has started 15 matches for the team, scoring six goals with two assists this season. Johnson was named the conference’s Player of the Week on Oct. 2, the second this season she’s received the honor and third since joining the program. “Havana’s ability to maximize her opportunities has been a huge lift to our team,” McNeese State coach Scott Fitzgerald said. “She works really hard and it’s nice to see the payoff.”
