BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers played their homecoming game against the Priest River Spartans on Friday.

After a busy day of celebrations, the team kept up their energy to give the Spartans their best.

Neither team scored before halftime, but Ty Bateman ran for a 64-yard touchdown, much to the crowd’s pleasure, to put the host Badgers ahead 6-0.

Unfortunately for BFHS, the Priest River offense responded, with three touchdown runs by Keegan Hegel, giving the Spartans the Intermountain League victory.

Bonners Ferry’s defense forced four Priest River turnovers and held the Spartan offense to 264 yards.

Bonners Ferry struggled on offense, gaining only 123 yards in the contest. Quarterback Aaron Scott completed seven passes for 54 yards, while Ty Bateman led the rushing attack with 53 yards on seven carries. Bateman and Jake Jelinek led the receivers with two receptions each.

Bonners Ferry concludes its season Friday night with a trip to Timberlake High School.
