I have to give credit to Steve Lockwood and his campaign team. Mr. Lockwood is an excellent “politician.” This is not to say that he’s right for Bonner County commissioner, just that he’s quite well managed by his handlers.

For example, Dan McDonald’s team has been trying to get Mr. Lockwood to come out for a friendly discussion about the issues so that the people of Bonner County could see the differences between them. Mr. Lockwood is making every effort to avoid forums where he and Dan McDonald are in the same place at the same time. I’m beginning to wonder if they’re really the same person. In which case, vote for Dan because his positions are much stronger. Anyway, whether it be on the radio, in public forums, in a public venue, or a debate, Mr. Lockwood simply cancels and backs out of his commitments.

So, I’m making a public challenge to him, stop hiding and schedule two or three one-on-one discussions about the issues. The people of Bonner County want a commissioner that represents them well in government, not someone who lives in fear. Be the transparent candidate you claim to be. If you’re this afraid of challenging discussions now, what kind of commissioner would you make with all the confrontations they have to handle every day?
