CLARKIA — In Shoshone County’s southern-most community, the commissioners of the Clarkia Better Roads Highway District are looking to pass an $83,000 levy.
The proposed two-year levy will increase the current tax rate during that time period.
As of press time, the Shoshone News-Press was unable to contact a representative with the Clarkia Highway District to ascertain the current dollar amount being levied against taxpayers in that district.
The added funds from the levy would be used by the district for the purpose of pro operations, and for construction and maintenance of the district's roads and bridges — beginning in tax year 2019.
The levy is set for voting on Nov. 6.
