Residents can kick off their holiday shopping this weekend during the Libby Heritage Museum’s fundraising Holiday Bazaar.

Handcrafted items including pottery, jewelry, Christmas decor, candies and more will be on sale throughout the museum from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

In addition to the handcrafted items, goods and gift certificates donated by local merchants and friends of the museum will be sold, and the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild will display seasonal quilts in the Tower Gallery.

Food will be served at the Museum cookhouse, including homemade soup Friday, burgers, hotdogs and chili on Saturday, and assorted bake goods both days.

Bidding on a silent auction for a three-night stay at Pend Oreille Shores Resort in Hope, Idaho, begins 4 p.m. Friday and ends 3 p.m. Saturday.

There’s a raffle, too, featuring cash and other prizes. Tickets cost $10 for 12, $5 for six or $1 each. The drawing will take place 3 p.m. Saturday, and winners need not be present.

With no income during the winter months, the Museum depends on the Holiday Bazaar to cover the yearly insurance premium and winter heating bills.
