WMS cross country runners wrap up season

The Whitefish Middle School cross country team finished their season recently with a final race at Rebecca Farms.

Thirty-three fifth- through eighth-graders competed on the team.

The girls team placed in the top three at all of the meets this season, including the prestigious Mountain West Classic in Missoula with 26 complete middle school girls teams competing.

Finley McCarthy led the girls scorers at most of the meets this season. Other girls who scored by finishing in the top five from the WMS team this season were Isabel Cooke, Maeve Ingelfinger, Rachel Wilmot, Charlotte Wallace, Signe Ebbett, Sage Boyes, and Emerson York.

The boys best race of the season was also at the Mountain West Classic, where they placed sixth out of 27 complete teams. The boys team scorers were Mason Genovese, Ruedi Steiner, Adam Healy, Nate Ingelfinger, Landon Brown, Grant Heimbigner, Ethan Priest, and Henry Seigmund.
