Cats golf team earns fourth in Ronan and Corvallis

The Wildcat golf team had strong showings in two tournaments this week as they competed at Corvallis and Ronan.

The Cats were fourth in Corvallis Aug. 28, shooting 366 as a team. The total was one stroke behind Corvallis while Stevensville was first at 325 and Whitefish was second at 334.

Cody Brothwell led the way for the Cats with a ninth-place 85 while Tyler Langton was 15th at 88. Trey Perkins also shot an 88, but was 17th via tiebreaker. Marcus Kilman was 25th with a 105 and Bobby Dewbre finished 36th with a 134.

The Wildkats lone golfer, Lizzie Opalka, finished fourth after shooting a 99.

The Cats were also fourth in Ronan Thursday, shooting a 359 to finish behind Stevensville (319), Polson (330) and Frenchtown (333).

Langton and Perkins each shot 84 while Brothwell had a 95, Kilman 96 and Cameron Byrd shot a 112.

Opalka shot a 100 at the tournament.

The Cats will be at Polson Thursday and Libby Friday.
