Dayton will be abuzz Saturday, Sept. 8 for the annual Dayton Daze.

The event is a fundraiser for the community’s First Response teams.

This year’s theme is Montana Gold Rush, where old west wagons, floats and the Chief Cliff Volunteer Fire Department and Quick Response Unit vehicles will be on display.

First responders are working to raise money to purchase a 1999 Freightliner tender.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday for the open car show at 10 a.m., and tours of the old Proctor store, church and saloon will take place.

A flea market, kids’ games, music and food will begin at 11 a.m., while a parade will start at 1 p.m.

A police dog exhibition will be demonstrated at 2:30 p.m., and the ALERT helicopter landing will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Dayton Daze will be held regardless of weather or smoky haze.
