We as children we looked up to our leaders and believed that they were good, moral, ethical people. We wanted to be like them. Our parents and ministers encouraged us to do so.

Right now, I would be disturbed if my kid wanted to be “just like Donald Trump,” or like a local leader in West Bonner County School District’s school system. If my son said “I want to be just like either of them,” or my daughter said, “I want to marry a man like him,” I would do everything in my power to discourage them. Why? They both have had extramarital affairs and both have abused women. Does that not prove that they are dishonest, cheaters and lack a moral backbone?

In our president, Donald Trump’s case not only did he cheat on his first wife and get his mistress pregnant, he has been caught cheating on his third wife with a porn star and playboy bunny not to mention all of the other testimonies available of how he has abused women.

West Bonner County School Board trustees on Jan. 19, 2018, stated it has been aware of a romantic relationship between two of the districts’ top level employees. One of them was married to someone else at the time and also has had many women speak out against him for abuse and harassment.

If a person is willing to lie, cheat, deceive and betray their family and abuse women that they hold power over what else are they capable of? In today’s climate morality does not weigh heavily in our estimation of our leaders unless it is someone we already don’t like then boy howdy, do we jump on the band wagon to discredit them. Many people today behave like Lemmings and refuse to change course even if their leader takes the mass over the cliff of no return but there is consolation. Cheaters often get what they deserve. They marry each other and karma seems to eventually catch up one way or another. On the local level, you know who you are and you are an embarrassment to our community. Shame on you.
