Lady Pirates volleyball swept by Whitefish, Libby

The Polson High School Lady Pirates were defeated in back-to-back volleyball matches by Libby and Whitefish.

The Lady Pirates were swept in both of their matches against Libby and Whitefish, two teams that could easily contend for a postseason MHSA Class A state appearance.

The Lady Pirates fell to the Loggers 3-0 in Thursday afternoon’s match at Libby.

Mikaela DuCharme, Paige Noyes and Maggie Todd each led the Lady Pirates with a cumulative total of three kills each.

DuCharme also recorded a total of four blocks and Kaylanna DesJarlais led the team with nine digs.

Shea McGuiness finished with two aces and also led the team with 11 assists.

Lady Pirates swept by Whitefish

Whitefish swept the Lady Pirates in three matches Tuesday afternoon at Whitefish.

The Lady Pirates’ volleyball team was defeated 14-25, 20-25, 14-25.

Todd led the team in kills with amassing four, Paige Noyes finished with three, Mikaela DuCharme finished with three and Olivia Perez and Grace Quinones both finished with two kills on the night.

DuCharme led the team in aces with a total of two. Noyes, Quinones and Todd each contributed with an ace apiece.

McGuinnes led the team with 10 assists.

DuCharme finished with 14 digs, McGuinness had 13, Todd had 13 and DesJarlais finished with 11 in the loss.

Maidens split with Browning, C-Falls

The Ronan High School volleyball team finished its two match series with mixed results.

The Maidens traveled to Browning and defeated them in five games 27-29, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-3.

Madison Clairmont led the team with 17 kills. Brooklyn Kenelty finished with four aces, and Tiana Ulutoa finished with 26 assists.

Madeline McCrea also finished with a total of four blocks and 13 digs.

Columbia Falls swept the Maidens 10-25, 22-25, 13-25 Thursday afternoon.

McCrea led the team with a total of five kills and Tiana Ulutoa finished with 11 assists in the loss.
