Richard Sevenich’s letter (Daily Bee, Sept. 9) raises a number of issues. Richard points out a correctly discredited article written in 1988 by a questionable organization of people. The strongest criticism was that only 12 percent of the “scientists” had a “… degree in earth, environmental or atmospheric sciences.” The problem is that Richard cites Snopes for the Dec. 24, 2016, critique. While perhaps originating with an objective purpose, Snopes’ lack of transparency raised doubts about its’ reliability (Forbes, Dec. 22, 2016, Kalev Leetaru) and by July 18, 2018, its “… writers are in the habit of injecting editorial language or opinions into their fact checks.” (Real Clear Politics, Bill Zeier). We’ve seen a lot of that since 2016.

Richard then turns to touting the reliability of Andrew Nikiforuk as a believable source on scientific matters regarding anthropogenic global warming. Andrew is a Canadian journalist who, for more than 20 years, has written against the oil industry and particularly fracking. The problem is, as far as is discoverable, Andrew does not have a degree in earth, environmental or atmospheric sciences.

A good read is “The Climate Chronicles” by Joe Bastardi. A few quotes might pique your interest: “In the entire geological history of the planet, there has been no known linkage CO2 and temperatures.” “… man’s input of CO2 into the entire planetary climate system … only has 1/100th of the greenhouse gas effect.”

Climate alarmists merely want to promote fear. Read more and decide for yourself.
