Clark Fork, St. Regis teams in action

In football, the Clark Fork Mountain Cats rolled over the Darby Tigers on Friday night to an entertaining 82-50 win.

The Cats racked up 644 offensive yards where quarterback Bryan Mask threw seven touchdowns and a total of 387 yards passing. Trey Green caught two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores, and Kyler Francis also grabbed two scores. Isaiah Kovolsky, Jake Calloway and Houston Coon all added to the 82-point total against the Tigers, each with a touchdown. On defense, Wesley Buchanan and Kovalsky had fumble recoveries. Kovalsky also had a forced fumble.

Green, Francis and Jacob Lapinski also led the charge against the Tigers’ quarterback with five sacks where Francis had three, and the others, two each. Coon and Mask also intercepted a pass during the win. The Mountain Cats next face Troy in Alberton at 7 p.m. this Friday during Alberton’s Homecoming celebration.

The St. Regis/Mullan team played Clark Fork Idaho on the road on Friday, as well. Scores not available. Their next game will be in Kendrick, Idaho, on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.

IN VOLLEYBALL, the Clark Fork Lady Cats traveled to Plains on Sept. 13 where the JV team won 25-18, 25-7 and 15-8. The varsity team lost in four games with Plains winning 25-21, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-20. Madison Mask had all the team’s 11 assists as well as two of six team aces. Kathyrn Parkin also had two aces. Sister Margaret Parkin played big with 19 of the teams 69 digs, and the solo game block. She also tied with Emmah Baughman for kills making four each out of a team high of 18.

St. Regis also played Plains at home on Sept. 11 with a three-game loss to the Trotters, 25-12, 25-7 and 25-20. They also faced Valley Christian in Missoula on Thursday, Sept. 13 where Valley won all three games. Against the Trotters, Emma Hill led the team in digs with 19 out of the team’s 46, and also tied with Kylee Thompson in aces with two each. Hill also had four of the team’s 10 assists with Ashley Wilson picking up the other six. Chloe Cielk also had five of the team’s 15 kills, and Kylee Thompson has both of their two blocks.

The Lady Tigers’ next game will be against the cross-county rival Clark Fork Mountain Cats in Alberton with varsity at 7 p.m. this Thursday during Alberton’s Homecoming.

The Mineral County Shootout is set for this Saturday, with matches played in Superior, Alberton and St. Regis. Clark Fork and St. Regis are two of the schools in the competition.
