Prep roundup: Ephrata girls barrage Othello with goals

OTHELLO — Ephrata scored four goals in each half to beat Othello 8-1.

Mya Spencer, Kendall Kemp and Nikola Brzezny scored two goals each. McCall DeChenne and Lynette Sanchez also added on goal each for the Tigers.

Ebany Guzman scored in the second half to help Othello avoid a shutout.

Moses Lake 5, Eisenhower 0

YAKIMA — Moses Lake found a groove against Eisenhower and won 5-0.

Moses Lake shared the wealth as five different players scored: Halle Davis, Emily Mendoza, Morgan Skone, Madi Krogh and Natalie Bunch.

Krogh and Denali Knowles added two assists each.

The Chiefs host reigning district champion Wenatchee Thursday at 7 p.m.

COULEE CITY — Almira/Coulee-Hartline breezed by Valley Christian in three sets 25-10, 25-11, 25-11.

Ashley Mitchell finished with eight kills and three blocks to lead the Warriors.

Christa Christopherson notched 16 assists and Gabi Isaak totaled five aces.

Colfax 3, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 1

COLFAX — Eliza Galbreath had a team-high 14 kills but Lind-Ritzville/Sprague fell to Colfax in four sets 24-26, 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.

Othello 3, Moses Lake 2

OTHELLO — Othello outlasted Class 4A Moses Lake in five sets 25-16, 17-25, 26-24, 16-25, 15-13.

Clarissa Martinez posted an all-around line of nine kills, two aces and 24 digs. Alyssa Hawley had five kills, Macy Hampton tallied 12 assists and Julissa Cantu added 23 digs.

HERMISTON, Ore. — Moses Lake feasted on first-year slowpitch softball program Hermiston in a two-game sweep 13-0 and 19-0.

Harley Raymond hit two home runs in the first game, three total. Hadleigh Cranston also went deep in the first game in addition to pitching a shutout.

Brooklyn Bailey and Gina Skinner were both 4-for-4 in Game 2; Bailey also homered. Cierah Knoll posted three hits and also pitched a shutout.
