Parents were provided an opportunity to focus on themselves for a brief while during a “Parenting Self Care Day” at Two Eagle River High School in Pablo.

Sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Project LAUNCH, Parenting Self Care Day saw its second year Saturday, Sept. 15.

“Our focus is on helping provide space for parents to focus on their own self care,” CSKT Project LAUNCH Director Whitney Danz said.

The gymnasium of the school was set up with different stations ranging from yoga to massages to various crafts.

Free childcare was also available to those who wished to utilize the offer.

Danz said that by spending a little time focusing on themselves, parents can then better focus on their children.

Parents registered for the free event upon arrival, with the first 40 receiving free self-care kits.

This year, there were more than 140 parents and children who attended.
