Hello FALL, we are ready for you here at the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce! We have several Chamber events and programs that are on the October and November calendars sure to keep our 1,000 business members busy and informed. But before we share with our readers what’s next, we’d like to recognize an outstanding group of people who made our First Annual COEURfest event a huge success.

COEURfest was held Sept. 8 at McEuen Park and included seven different “experience areas” for our locals to explore and learn about. Several volunteers spent months planning this event and it could not have been executed without their help.

Joe Alfieri, Jessica Bonar, Nathan Rogers, TSgt Isaac Loren, Lesa Lebeau, Maren Mair, Greg Robinette, Kevin Nelson, Kristin Kilmer, Ron Reed, Beth Brown, Doug Rupiper, Erica Hart, Rebecca Stevens, Larry Frisbee, Bill Greenwood and the Coeur d’Alene Parks Department team, Washington Air National Guard and Fairchild Airforce Base. These folks and all the exhibitors for the day deserve this recognition along with a big Chamber of Commerce thank you! See you next September for an even bigger and better celebration.

Next: Sept. 25 will be the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls Chambers Joint Legislative Forum at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn. At this forum, we will host discussions concerning upcoming state legislative and ballot issues for the 2019 session.

On Sept. 28 is the Chamber’s annual Business & Industry Tour. Limited seats are available to spend a day touring some of our businesses including Gizmo, Coeur Greens, Namaste Foods, Orgill and Rocky Mountain Roller Coaster which is the largest roller coaster manufacturing plant in the world.

Oct. 18 will be the Chamber’s Fall Golf Tournament at Circling Raven Golf Club. This is one of the last golf tournaments of the season in our area. This always proves to be a fun way for our business members to mix and mingle on the greens.

Oct. 24 the Chamber will enter its 106th year with the Annual Meeting Luncheon. At this luncheon the Chamber recognizes incoming and outgoing Chairs, Committee and Citizen of the Year. We welcome our 2018 keynote, John Ness, CEO of Kootenai Health who will present on the past, present and future of Kootenai Health.

And finally, on Dec. 7 we investigate the future with John Mitchell’s Economic Forecast of 2019. This will be the fourth year local economist Mitchell will share with our Chamber his dynamic and educational style of presentation and this event always commands a sold-out room. Don’t miss this one!

For all this (and more) of what’s happening at the Chamber or to register for any event go to www.cdachamber.com or call Monday-Friday 208-664-3194.

Coeur d'Alene Chamber recognizes leadership

Nearly 250 members gathered at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn recently to celebrate another awesome year of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber, and to thank the chamber’s volunteer leadership. It was a chance to acknowledge some very special people in our community, and to recognize the hundreds of engaged members who participate in our committees. We also got a sneak peek at the Chamber’s 2019 Leadership Team.
