C-Falls sending three to state golf tourney

Three Columbia Falls golfers will be making the trip to the State Golf Tournament in Hamilton this weekend after finishing in the top-30 at Divisionals in Libby Saturday.
Tyler Langton and Cody Brothwell will be making the trip to state to represent the Wildcats after both golfers shot a 91 at the Cabinet View Golf Course Saturday. Langton was 23rd and Brothwell 24th by virtue of a scorecard tiebreaker.
Lizzie Opalka will also be representing Columbia Falls at state as she shot a 112 to finish 23rd in the girls’ tournament.
Marcus Killman shot a 110 for the Wildcats while Trey Perkins shot a 113 and Bobby Dewbre finished at 122 as the Wildcats finished eighth as a team.
The Hamilton boys won the team title while the girls’ title went to Whitefish.
Libby’s Ryggs Johnston ran away with the boys’ individual title, shooting a 65 to finish 10 shots ahead of Polson’s Matt Hobbs. Butte Central’s Tricia Joyce topped the girl’s leaderboard at the tournament, shooting a 73.
