BONNERS FERRY — On Sept. 22, community members came together for an evening out to dinner that not only brought friendly conversation, but supported local growers.

The GROW garden has to pay a water bill as well as the wages for a part-time maintenance keeper for the community garden that generously provides not only produce for the local food banks, but also assists with the United Methodist Church’s weekly community luncheons every Thursday.

This year’s feast featured an Italian theme, showcasing a semi-locally produced eggplant casserole, supported with local dairy products, local produce, as well as meat products, all of which were enjoyed with locally produced beverages.

By bringing community minded suppliers and businesses together, this dinner social not only provided an opportunity for locals to converse, but brought together a network of people that not only will assist one another, but the community as a whole.
