Breaking news to report, per a super secret anonymous source with insider knowledge of the situation:

Hawk’s Nest in Coeur d’Alene is a nice place to live.

Consider these striking remarks from my anonymous source:

“I think it’s a great neighborhood. The walking trails are very nice and I think really well maintained.”

Boom.

“There’s a real sense of community.”

Mic drop.

OK, so that secret anonymous source is just a guy I know who lives in Hawk’s Nest, but I know he’s telling the truth. Plus, as someone who has visited his home for a gathering of barbecue meats, I can vouch for his comments. It is nice!

Primary entry into Hawk’s Nest is located at Atlas Road and Hanley Avenue in Coeur d’Alene, or you can get there by driving through the connected neighborhood of The Landings to the north. The Landings is home to one of the community’s largest parks, which Hawk’s Nest residents also enjoy. Even from the far end of the development to the south, it’s a minute’s drive or a pleasant 15-minute walk to the 11-acre park that includes a splash pad, playground, tennis and basketball courts, two picnic shelters and many more amenities.

The green space in Hawk’s Nest is well maintained as well, per my source, and even said the Homeowner’s Association has focused on making improvements to areas that previously required too much maintenance, for example replacing some ill-performing trees with more open grass space.

“The HOA board and its volunteers have been doing a really good job engaging with the community and listening to the changes that people have been asking for,” the source said. “They have the neighborhood’s best interests in mind.”

The source said he pays $240/year for Homeowners Association fees.

Home sizes in the community vary greatly, though you will see a few of the same models, as is typical with this area of Coeur d’Alene. Most of the homes were built in the 2006-2010 range.

A sampling of recently available properties (my source isn’t selling, FYI) reveals the variety of size options. On the lower end, a three-bedroom rancher with just over 1,000 square feet is listed just under $230,000. A three-bedroom, 2,000-plus-square-foot home is listed just under $270,000. Then up on the high end, a four-bedroom, 3,200-plus-square-foot home is currently listed at $325,000.

Atlas Road allows for swift access to Prairie Avenue to the north, and Seltice Way to the south, allowing drivers to head into Post Falls, Rathdrum and the heart of Coeur d’Alene with minimal traffic light stops.

So if Hawk’s Nest is so great, why is my source insisting on keeping his identity secret?

He’s worried about riff-raffs moving in, but he doesn’t want potential riff-raffs to know his name. So if you’re thinking about Hawk’s Nest, don’t be a riff-raff.
