Libby kindergarten registration and orientation

Libby Public Schools and Kootenai Valley Head Start are inviting students and their families to kindergarten registration and orientation for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Libby Public Schools kindergarten orientation will take place on Tuesday, April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Libby Elementary School library, 101 Ski Road. It will include the the opportunity to pick up kindergarten registration paperwork and schedule a readiness test for students not currently attending preschool.

Orientation on April 23 begins with a “what to expect” presentation, followed by an opportunity to tour classrooms and meet Libby kindergarten teachers. Families will also be able to meet school staff and principals. Students can receive a free t-shirt for “Class of 2032” from GEAR-UP.

Registration for Libby kindergarten will take place on Wednesday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Libby Elementary School. The event is for any student who will be 5 years old on or before Tuesday, Sept. 10, and preparing to enter kindergarten this fall.

Registration from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. is by appointment. Call 406-293-2763 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In order to register students, parents or guardians will need to bring up-to-date immunization records, a state-certified birth certificate and names and phone numbers of emergency contacts.

The April 24 registration event will include readiness testing for any student not currently attending Plummer, and an immunization clinic will be available during registration.
