Glacier National Park plow crews have made good progress on the Going-to-the-Sun Road. As of presstime, they had plowed the highway to Alder Trail, which is two miles beyond the Loop on the west side.

On the east side, crews have pioneered to Siyeh Bend.

The Camas Road is open, but the Two Medicine and Many Glacier roads are closed to vehicles, though there are no hiker-biker restrictions.

On the Sun Road, hikers and bikers can currently go as far as Avalanche Creek on the west side while crews are working and to Dead Horse Point on the east side while crews are plowing.

Generally when crews aren’t plowing, hiking and biking access is extended, which is later in the evenings and on weekends, though folks are urged to use caution, as much of the road runs through avalanche terrain and avalanches that cross the highway in the spring are not uncommon.

Vehicles can travel as far as Lake McDonald Lodge on the west side and Rising Sun on the east side.
