Plains quilter takes top prize at Flat Iron show in T-Falls

Peg McCarthy of Plains earned the “Viewer’s Choice” award for the top entry in the 2019 Flat Iron Quilt Guild’s show held Saturday, April 6 in the Thompson Falls High School gym.

Another Plains quilter — Mellissa Compton — received the “Guild’s Choice” award.

The successful show had more than 200 entries from all over western Montana.

There were special awards presented in seven other categories. They are:

Bed Quilt — Nancy Wedemeyer, Thompson Falls; and Ella Larson, Trout Creek.

Lap Quitl — Jo Carder, Trout Creek; and Kathleen Pierce, Troy.

Child’s Quilt — Dorothy Rawie and Wedemeyer, both Thompson Falls.

Accessories — Carder.

Wall Hangings — Linda Wilson, Plains.

Theme Challenge — Larson.

Moose Challenge — Jennifer McCrea, Donna Abrams and Ann Lundmark, all of Plains.
