MOSES LAKE - A male motorcyclist died in a collision near Moses Lake early Wednesday morning.

About 5:15 a.m. Jackie Baker, 51, of Moses Lake, was driving a 1983 Honda motorcycle south on Stratford Road Northeast when he reportedly collided with a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Moises Valle, of Moses Lake, who was turning west onto Road 7 Northeast, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office

Baker died at the scene of the collision. His body is currently in the care of the Grant County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed.

Valle was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. The sheriff’s office says he was not impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. Baker was wearing a Department of Transportation certified helmet. The sheriff’s office says speed does not appear to be a factor in the fatal collision.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the collision
