Four pass exam
Four Columbia Basin residents were among 505 candidates to successfully pass the Washington State Bar examination conducted in July, said Richard H. Riddell, state bar president.
They were Tom Grant Cordell and Monte Lynn Scaggs of Moses Lake, Thomas F. Sackman of Othello and Dennis Henrichs of Ritzville.
Senior citizens slate three noon meetings
Senior citizens of the southern area of Grant County will hold a series of three organizational meetings this month at Red Rock Elementary School.
At noon on Oct. 15, 22 and 29, seniors will meet for lunch at the school cafeteria to plan programs. Luncheon price will be 75 cents per person per session. Reservations are required and may be made with Erma Ross, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the Thursday before the meetings.
“We need suggestions for programs for senior citizens,” said Ray Potters.
Crime prevention presented by police
Self-protection and crime prevention in the home will be discussed by a patrolman from the Moses Lake Police Department 8 p.m. today in the dining room at Samaritan Hospital. Sponsored by the Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, it is open to the public, said Kikki Knapp.
Chief Moses Association to meet
Chief Moses Parents-Teachers-Students Association invites parents and students to its open house at 7:30 p.m. today at the junior high. Parents will tour the classrooms and meet their children’s teachers.
Ice cream social set
An ice cream social will highlight the first meeting of Garden Heights-Lakeview Parent-Teacher Organization 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
One of only three meetings for the 1976-77 school year, the PTO business session will follow the ice cream feed. Sixth graders from Lakeview will be the waitresses and waiters.
A minimum fee will be charged for ice cream cones, chocolate sundaes and banana splits.
