Frenchtown Rural Fire District and additional crews contained a structure fire involving a fifth-wheel trailer and a car on Ursus Way in Frenchtown Friday afternoon.
Eleven responders from Frenchtown Rural Fire District and additional crews from Missoula Rural Fire and Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation helicopter assisted with the fire, which occurred at 1 p.m. Aug. 2.
“Due to dry grass and the red flag warning, we requested a helicopter,” said Mel Holtz, a spokesperson for the Frenchtown Rural Fire District.
Holtz says the original call was for a grass fire, but after arriving on scene there was a fifth-wheel trailer on fire.
No person was injured, however the family dog died in the fire.
