SCHAWANA — One person was injured in a collision on state Route 243 on Saturday.

About 11:21 a.m. Victor Villagra, 33, of Quincy, was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon south on state Route 243 in Schawana when he reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a 2013 Freightliner semi-truck driven by Kenneth Redlin, 39, of Wenatchee. The Yukon came to a rest on the northbound shoulder, while the semi came to rest off the southbound shoulder, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Villagra was injured in the collision and transported to Confluence Health-Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment. The patrol lists the official cause of the collision as Villagra’s “lane travel.” Villagra was cited for first-degree negligent driving.
