Polson High School football coach Kaden Glinsmann is excited about his numbers during the first Montana High School Association Class A practices.

Glinsmann, who will begin his first-ever season at the helm of the Pirates’ football program, said he and his staff of assistants have a lot of optimism headed into the start of the season.

“I think there has been a ton of optimism since I’ve been here,” Glinsmann said. “Our staff has learned the system, and as we’ve stated, I’ve reinstalled stuff this period from the ground up. It’s been good to get reintroduced, and there is a lot of optimism.”

Glinsmann, whose most recent coaching duties were as a secondary-long snapping coach for recently departed coach Mike Van Diest, is optimistic about some of the senior leaders his team has returning.

The reason for the optimism is simple, Glismann knows he has a lot of senior leadership set to return for the start of the 2019 season, and that experience will be a vital component as the team attempts to return to the level they were at during the 2016 campaign when they qualified for the MSHA Class A playoffs.

“We have a lot of kids that are seniors that started playing varsity football when they were sophomores,” Glismann said. “The last two seasons were a good turnaround, and things have been good so far for these guys.”
