Cat perishes in structure fire

No people were injured but a cat died in a trailer fire on Maple Drive in Evergreen Sunday night.

A second cat was taken to the veterinarian by its owners for smoke inhalation according to Evergreen Fire Rescue.

The fire department was dispatched to the structure fire at 6:26 p.m.

The fire originated in the kitchen and was knocked down quickly before it spread to the living room according to Evergreen Fire Rescue firefighter James LaPierre. LaPierre said the trailer sustained significant smoke damage.

Creston and Kalispell fire departments also responded.
