Man injured in Highway 41 rollover

SPIRIT LAKE — A Sandpoint man was critically injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 41 south of town on Monday.

Idaho State Police said Christian R. Kreiger was headed northbound when he lost control of the vehicle near milepost 17. The Toyota 4-Runner Kreiger was driving went off the east side of the highway before over-correcting and crossing over to the west side of the highway. The sport utility vehicle rolled once and Kreiger was ejected, state police said.

Kreiger, 31, was not wearing a seatbelt, ISP said in a news release.

Kreiger was taken to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene with injuries state police said were critical. The crash remained under investigation on Tuesday.

Kreiger’s condition as of Tuesday was not immediately available.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m.
