Volleyball to start season on the road

The Wildkat volleyball team will open the season in Butte this weekend in action at the Tip-off tournament.

The Wildkats are coming off a 2018 season in which the team finished third in the conference and at the divisional tournament to reach the state tourney, where the team went 1-2 before being eliminated.

The team will be looking to replace All-State selection Ryley Kehr but returns second team All-Conference selections Hannah Schweikert and Angellica Street.

This year’s team will feature only two seniors, Street and Kiera Brown, but has five juniors in McKenna Rensel, Dillen Hoerner, Hannah Schweikert, Lauren Falker and Madysen Hoerner. Grace Gedlaman, a sophomore, rounds out the roster.

After finishing up the Tip-off tournament, the Wildkats will be back in action Tuesday at they travel to Browning for action starting at 4:15 p.m.
