GUNS: It's about protection

Re: J Coulter’s Nov. 29 NRA letter … The NRA has its problems, but the 2A has nothing to do with hunting or sports. It has to do with protecting American citizens from their own government, and criminals.

All gun registration leads to confiscation. All gun confiscation leads to dictatorship. Want to fix “gun violence?” Take the guns away from criminals — the street gangsters, illegal gun dealers, et al. Make armed crime a federal offense, then make the punishment painful enough people think twice. Kids getting guns and killing other kids? Guns belong on your hip or in a gun safe.

Watch the news? There was a knife attack on London Bridge. The perp had to be shot. Those bent on killing will use manure and kerosene, Presto pressure cookers, cyanide, lories on a bridge or street market, etc. You don’t need a gun.

Ask yourself how many felonies are committed by ID Concealed Carry Permit holders. Responsible gun owners know where their guns are.

They use guns for many things, but protecting themselves, family and country comes first.
