The long-running Polson gala fundraiser, Festival of Trees, sells out of tickets quickly, and this Saturday’s affair is no exception.

But this year, the public is invited to a community preview of the fabulously decorated trees that will be auctioned the next evening.

KwaTaqNuk Resort will host the event from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, to include a hot chocolate bar with special toppings and a chance to visit with Santa Claus.

Friday, festivities in Polson’s downtown begin with live music at 5 p.m.

The Parade of Lights starts at 6:30 p.m. at Cherry Valley Elementary, with awards for Best of Parade, Best Light Display, Most Creative, and Most Humorous.

Warm your toes around a community fire pit, and enjoy special foods, beverages, and shopping as downtown businesses will stay open until 8 p.m.

The 21st annual Festival of Trees starts at 6 p.m. Sat., Dec. 7 at the KwaTaqNuk with dinner, dancing, live auction and raffle.

Trees and wreaths are decorated by area businesses, each with its own theme, and often bring a pretty penny from generous bidders.

The glitzy get-together raises funds for the Mission Valley Youth Foundation, which donates to youth-based organizations, programs and charities in the Mission Valley.
