KELLOGG — Clark Fork girls basketball dropped its second straight game to begin the season 45-38 to Kellogg JV on Thursday night.

Clark Fork head coach Jordan Adams said she saw a lot of improvement from her team against the Wildcats.

“The girls came out much stronger tonight,” Adams wrote in an email. “Those first game jitters are behind us ... We are still struggling getting shots to fall but have lots of great looks. Hopefully come league they are still getting great looks and the ball finishes.”

The Lady Cats took an early 8-6 lead after the first quarter but Kellogg fought back in the second to take a 19-15 advantage into halftime.

Clark Fork came right back in the second half and reduced the Wildcats’ lead to 1 point entering the final eight minutes of action.

Unfortunately, three of the Lady Cats starters fouled out in the middle of the fourth quarter making it difficult for Clark Fork to stay with Kellogg and forcing Adams to turn to some of her younger players.

Seniors Ellie Kiebert and Sara Hathaway scored 13 and 12 points respectively to lead the Lady Cats.

Clark Fork heads to Coeur d’Alene JV 5:30 p.m. Monday.
