HONOLULU, Hawaii — Alexcis Lusby had eight kills for No. 23 Washington State in a 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-14 loss to San Diego in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
“San Diego is a fantastic team, obviously winning the WCC (West Coast Conference) they showed that all season long,” Washington State coach Jen Greeny said. “So, they’re a team that frustrates other teams definitely defensively and that’s kind of what they did tonight. I don’t think it was our best match, but a lot of credit goes out to San Diego and just what they did defensively and offensively as well.”
Washington State finishes 23-10.
San Diego (25-5) will face Hawaii (25-3) tonight in the second round.
